Effective 1 September 2020,the old blue facebook will be a thing of the past.This follows a 2019 announcement by Facebook’s Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg who described the changes to facebook’s new outlook as “The New Facebook” which is a visual marker for the company’s pivot towards privacy focused communication.
The New facebook reflects the ever changing roles of desktop computing.In simple terms the “New Facebook” means you will be kissing goodbye to your old classic blue facebook.

In justifying the latest changes Tom Occhino, director of engineering for the Facebook app stated“We shifted a lot of our attention to really catching up on mobile,” adding that “The site had become pretty slow and cluttered from a user-experience perspective”. For many who had been used to the old-blue facebook, the transition to the new will be difficult and only time will tell.
